Shorter shower
No heat in room at Dad's house
No chocolate/candy wrappers
No school silverware/milk
Been doing okay today. I talked my mom out of going out to eat last night, so instead we went grocery shopping at Fosters and made grilled sandwiches/roasted broccoli for dinner. That has not much to do with any of my challenges, but it still felt relevant. It's amazing, the things that feel more relevant than usual. Besides the turning off lights (a welcome relief, it turns out, even on a gloomy day) I found myself reveling in completing other challenges I overheard, such as spending time outside during practice and later watching the game, eating dinner by candlelight, or walking to an appointment today.
We had an interesting incident grocery shopping last night. We had left our usual canvas bags at home by accident, but I REALLY hate giving in and getting a bag, whether paper or plastic, while grocery shopping. It's one of my pet peeves. So we asked, and they gave us a box (you know how Fosters keeps all those free recycled boxes outside?) and we stuck our groceries in that. We felt like we were making a delivery, plus I can use the box to stick more pots in (always good). So all in all, a day that was interesting in terms of impact, but not really in terms of my specific challenges.
