$100 at Big Y and I Can't Live With Timm Allman: Day 4

It's nice to know I could feed a family of three with $100. It's actually really nice. Which means I could feed myself with about $33. I could even eat good, healthy food. Which is also awesome. I don't need to be that rich. I was surprised by the amount of food I could buy with $100, especially if I were still buying fresh food. At least I know I'm not going to living off Ramen for the rest of my life. I also learned that I could not live with Timm, under any circumstance. We just don't get along. Our poor kid would be so malnourished.

I also learned that I could furnish an apartment for pretty cheaply through Craigslist. (I also learned that was a word) I think it's pretty awesome how people are selling stuff for so little. I also liked that they were giving away jelly and stale ceral for people who liked to feed the birds. I guess it's definitely possible survive without making a ton of money. You just need to learn where to look.

I'm think the thing I'm going to remember the most is the grocery store exersise. It was really cool to look at the different options for food and the different brands and the varing cost. And I'm going to share Craigslist with others. I HAD NO IDEA IT EXISTED. Maybe others don't know about it either. But I have to tell them to not go alone to pick up things because there might be crazy murders out there. Gotta keep people safe.

And now, my personal challenges:
It's kind of yucky out, so some teachers are opposed to the lights being off. But I don't mind. I like the dark. They should all be resepectful of the repsonsibilities we have to other classes. I try to shut off lights as much as possible. But I didn't last night when I walked out of Liz's room because we were fearful the entire house could come down if I touched the light. In my opinion, standing houses are better than lights being turned off. But that's just me.

My plastic use is lovely. I had my sandwhich packed in a reusable container. And my orange was in a reused produce bag, and I'm going to bring it home so someone else in my house can use it. And, I found my Nalgene, which means I can bring water to school in something other than plastic water bottles.

My stupid sister left the computer on last night, so that wasn't my fault. Hey, I didn't even use the computer last night. I turned it off this morning when I noticed it so it wasn't being left on all day. Because it's not like my mom would use it. Heck, I'm not even sure she knows how to turn the darn thing on. Anyway, the point is, the computer wasn't on for the 8 or something hours my sister and I were not home.

As for my recycling, I do that anyway. But I'm more concious of making sure everything that can be recycled is being recycled.

I feel like I'm doing my part. And that's what matters to me :)
