A Wednesday Not To Remember

My Current Challenges:

  1. No fans, heat, a/c. Only use natural cooling and heating.
  2. Shorter showers for less water consumption.
  3. No paper napkins or paper towels.
  4. Hypermiling (slow acceleration, lower cruise speeds, overall trying to get better MPG).
Class Challenge:
  • Limited lights. Natural lighting during the day. No unnecessary lights.

Yeah.....Wednesday....what?
I honestly can not remember much at all. Darn this is hard. I think I failed at the light challenge today. I left the lights on all night after I passed out. Well....thats not very environmentally friendly now is that? Hope this doesn't happen again.

Didn't take a shower today. I know right? Ewwww.

PAPER TOWEL! I don't even know where it is in my house. Well....that makes the challenge all that easier. As for napkins, a new substitute I feel most people already use: PANTS! Perfect location, discrete, and if you buy the new popular styles, the mess will blend in with all the crap already on them. (Fine. I'll get a washable napkin...)

I think the heat is off. Let me check...yep it's off. Well.... its chilly again. I need to plan this better. It's not horrible, but I could be feeling better.

Also, I've decided to start something for fun. The Environmental Fact O-Day (source will be posted at the end of the blog session):
"Americans spend, on average, 51 minutes a day commuting to and from work."

  1. I find that pants are also a good solution to the paper towels in the bathroom, or the almost-useless hand dryers.

  2. True.

Actually, there was one hand dryer, worked amazingly.

  3. Forgot to mention, but also the website states that "And because it uses up to 80% less energy than warm air hand dryers, it costs less to run and is better for the environment." YAY.
